I have a mix of emotions. After spending so much time with characters, readers want certain things to happen. They dearly wish for a happy ending, for things to be okay, but all I can say is that things are going to be okay— eventually. It sounds funny to hear you, the author, were surprised by some of the twists in this final book! The inspiration came from a few different and seemingly unrelated places. The no reading aspect was pulled from oral cultures.
